The third edition of this gastronomic event in Sant Carles, that has already become a classic, ended last Saturday 28th October.
Ibiza's local products are highly valued for its proximity and quality. The week of 23 to 28 November, the fishermen's guilds of Sant Antoni and Ibiza reduced the prices of Ibizan squid to promote their consumption, an event that ended with the III Squid Gastronomic Fair, where they could taste more than 5,000 tapas of squid prepared in 22 different ways. A real treat for our palates.
The Sant Carles de Peralta festival committee and a multitude of volunteers managed that, in addition to gastronomy, in this fair attendees could enjoy concerts, while the 16 "collas" cooked a total of 600 kilos of squid in many different ways. Morning Drivers, Contrabando and ABBA The New Experience were the bands that livened up the atmosphere.
This was the first fair in which three prizes were distributed (in the previous ones only two were distributed) to the "collas" that best tapas elaborated. "Terra Seca" finished in third place, "Puchipanda" finished in second place and as winner of the 2017 edition was proclaimed the "colla" "Tigre Pagès". All of them took an apron from the event as a souvenir and symbol of a new and successful fair, which promises to continue growing next year.
