Ibiza is a leading island in gastronomy. Proof of this is the "Route of Punic and Roman Pinchos" that took place the week of 5 to 10 December.
One of the most interesting attractions when you are on holiday in Ibiza is its vibrant cuisine. After the III Squid Gastronomic Fair, locals and travellers could enjoy the "Ruta de Pinchos Púnicos y Romanos" of Ibiza, within the events of the Cultural Itinerary of the Council of Europe.
The event, which took place the week of 5 to 10 December, is a competition route where many restaurants held two special skewers for the occasion, one of them to present the competition. For prices ranging from 4 to 7 euros (drink included), the participants could take a piece of Ibiza's history to their mouth.
A total of 13 establishments participated in the route and there was also time for talks related to the gastronomy of the Punic and Roman times, as well as a commented sample of the pinchos that were presented to the competition. There was also a talk and tasting on the "garum", one of the most prized condiments of antiquity.
A further proof that Ibiza is a gastronomic destination par excellence. If you are a gourmet and don't want to miss events like this in the future, book your accommodation in Ibiza at Villa Can Coves.
